In response to your articule under the heading of Faith in the Age today Sunday 22 May about prayer, I would like to assist you with what our Lord Jesus Christ says.
First on the question of mantra our Lord says in Mathew 6: 7-8
" And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do.
For they think they will be heard for their many words.
Therefore do not be like them. For your Father in heaven knows the things you have need of before you ask Him"
And on how do you pray, easy the Lord says from verse 9-13, this is the prayer that teaches you how to pray, not to pray it.
The problem with so many so called Christians today is that they don't know the word of God and are therefore easily lead astray as we have been warned by our Lord.
Mathew 7: 22-23 "Many will come to Me in that day, Lord Lord have we not prophesied in Your name,cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name. And then I will declare to them,I never knew you who practice lawlessness."
It saddens me how people claim to be Christians and yet know nothing about what our Lord taught for our salvation.
In ending Eastern spirituality hah crept into the church after the dearth of Christ and we were warned of its deception by the apostle Paul.
Exuse me , but I am going to tell you how to pray more effectively. Prayer is,should be, a transfer of spiritual energy.
Holding the hands together holds the energy within.
To send it to the world, or a person send it out from the heart centre and the palms of the hands. After a while you will feel heat in the hands.
This constitutes an operation in practical metaphysics as taught by Dr.George King, who founded The Aetherius Society.
There is no better way for sending healing, or to help the world in these difficult times.

Thank you for your article today. I too experienced the same frustration as a young Christian about prayer, and I too now am a member of the WCCM. I notice I begin with Maranatha and then become aware that it has changed to "Come Lord Jesus." The mantra helps me embrace the presence of Christ for a few fleeting focussed wonderful moments.
